Our HSE Policy

Our HSE Policy

SKS Marine Supply LLC is committed to conducting all operations in a manner that protects the health, safety and welfare of our employees, contractors, clients and the public. We believe that all incidents are preventable and that zero harm is an achievable goal.

Our Commitment

We will provide and maintain a safe working environment, ensure all personnel are trained and competent for their roles, comply with all applicable legislation and regulations and continuously improve our HSE performance through monitoring, review and learning.

Framework

Our HSE Pillars

Our HSE management system is built on six core pillars that govern how we plan, execute, and review every marine operation.

Safety Leadership

Safety starts at the top. Our management team leads by example, ensuring that every decision — from procurement to operations — prioritizes the wellbeing of our crew, clients and the communities we operate in.

Management commitment to zero incidents
Safety integrated into all operational planning
Regular leadership safety walkthroughs
Open-door reporting culture

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

We systematically identify hazards and assess risks before every operation. Our risk management process ensures that controls are in place before work begins and that all personnel understand the risks associated with their tasks.

Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for all operations
Pre-task risk assessments
Toolbox talks before every job
Continuous hazard monitoring during operations

Crew Training & Competency

Our crews are our greatest asset. We invest in ongoing training and certification to ensure every team member is competent, confident and prepared to operate safely in demanding offshore and nearshore environments.

STCW-certified crew members
Regular safety drills and emergency response training
First aid and firefighting certification
Ongoing competency assessments

Procedures & Compliance

All operations are governed by documented procedures aligned with international maritime standards. We maintain full compliance with flag state requirements, port state control and client-specific HSE requirements.

Documented Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
Compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code
Flag state and port state control compliance
Client HSE requirement integration

Incident Reporting & Investigation

We operate a transparent incident reporting system. All incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions are reported, investigated and used to drive continuous improvement across our operations.

Zero-barrier incident and near-miss reporting
Root cause analysis for all incidents
Corrective and preventive action tracking
Lessons learned shared across the fleet

Environmental Stewardship

We are committed to protecting the Caribbean's marine environment. Our operations comply with MARPOL regulations and we actively work to minimize our environmental footprint through responsible waste management and spill prevention.

MARPOL-compliant waste management
Oil spill prevention and response planning
Minimizing emissions and fuel consumption
Responsible disposal of all waste streams
Emergency Preparedness

Ready for Any
Emergency

Every vessel and operation has a documented Emergency Response Plan. Our crews train regularly for man-overboard, fire, flooding, and evacuation scenarios to ensure a fast, coordinated response when it matters most.

Man Overboard Drills
Fire & Flooding Response
Vessel Evacuation Procedures
Oil Spill Response Plans
Medical Emergency Protocols
Search & Rescue Coordination

Pre-Departure Safety Checks

All vessels undergo a comprehensive pre-departure safety inspection covering navigation equipment, life-saving appliances, firefighting equipment, and machinery.

Toolbox Talks

Before every operation, the crew gathers for a toolbox talk to review the task, identify hazards, confirm controls, and ensure everyone understands their role.

Permit to Work System

High-risk marine operations are controlled through a formal Permit to Work (PTW) system. Specific PTW categories include: Hot Work (welding, cutting, grinding near flammable materials), Confined Space Entry (tanks, voids, enclosed bilge spaces), Working at Height (mast work, crane operations, elevated deck access), Diving & Subsea Operations, Electrical Isolation and Pressure Testing. Each permit requires a designated Responsible Person, documented risk controls and a formal close-out inspection.
